Next-Gen Building Design & Construction Startup Receives Validation of Industry-Leading Software and Leadership Team

December 13, 2022 09:00 AM Eastern Standard Time

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--cove.toola leading provider of building design and construction software, is proud to announce its recent accomplishments and investments in people and product. By creating a new network of shared information, the company is breaking down barriers in the design and construction life cycle and building better, more sustainable buildings.

“Buildings are responsible for 40% of global carbon emissions, and as awareness of the AEC industry's impact on the climate grows, we're seeing a greater focus on optimizing building decisions with both performance and sustainability in mind”

In 2022, the startup saw significant growth as it improved its comprehensive suite of easy-to-use, collaborative, and interconnected web-based building simulation tools. The upcoming launch of revgen.tool and the expansion of its team have positioned the company for even more success in 2023.

With a diverse team of experts and industry-vetted and approved software, cove.tool is poised to unlock the $268 billion in missing productivity for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. Its data-driven design capabilities will help the building industry meet the energy and high-performance targets outlined in the Inflation Reduction Act, which includes more than $11 billion in funding for the sector.

"Buildings are responsible for 40% of global carbon emissions, and as awareness of the AEC industry's impact on the climate grows, we're seeing a greater focus on optimizing building decisions with both performance and sustainability in mind," said Sandeep Ahuja, Co-Founder and CEO of cove.tool. “Our tools and resources for the industry are proven successful in empowering companies to make data-driven choices across a full project lifecycle. We continue to invest in our suite of products and our team to ensure we’re providing the solutions needed to improve building design and address the climate crisis.”

Recent Product Expansions & Continued Industry Validation

cove.tool is launching its revolutionary product, revgen.tool, in early January 2023, allowing building product manufacturers to integrate performance directly into their sales and marketing conversations with architects and engineers. Elevated SEC regulations around embodied carbon in the United States and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism in the European Union, are macros driving complex decisions around carbon and cost by design and construction teams.

For the first time, the platform's new Embodied Carbon feature democratizes Scope 3 reporting with automated estimates. Design and construction teams can quickly create complete carbon profiles of any given project, which is critical for measuring and determining opportunities for decarbonization in the building sector. Embodied Carbon feature gives the AEC industry a straightforward way to meet the climate goals, commitments and requirements established to address the carbon emissions of buildings.

In addition to the upcoming revgen.tool launch, cove.tool refreshed its free, browser-based, data-structured, 3-D modeling software called drawing.tool. Streamlining interoperability, each object knows where it is in space and adapts automatically, standardizing the creation of analysis-ready building geometry. Geometry from drawing.tool feeds into all other parts of the platform directly, allowing design teams to share models from a range of sources into the powerful simulation engines running in the cloud.

While the startup invests in its platform, the industry continues to support and validate its current tools. loadmodeling.tool was recently recognized as the Software Category winner of the 2022 AHR Expo Innovation Awards. Additionally, analysis.tool received honorable mention in the Technology Design & Build Software category of Architect Newspaper’s 2022 Best of Product Awards. Finally, cove.tool was named the Best B2B Startup in the 2022 Atlanta Startup Awards.

A Growing Team of Industry Experts & Leaders

In tandem with product enhancements and investments, cove.tool continues to invest in its team of architects, engineers, energy modelers, software developers, designers, and strategists, who remain integral to the startup’s success and growth plans for 2023.

The company recently hired a new management team member who will play an important role in continuing its commitment to innovation and its culture. Jon Smith, who previously served in customer experience leadership roles at Calendly and Mailchimp, joined the company as Vice President of Customer Success. Carefully recruited for rapid scaling, the go-to-market team includes industry leaders Krystl Black as Vice President of Marketing and Shaun Rodgers as Vice President of Sales.

The diverse team of innovative experts is collectively focused on making progress toward the company’s goals and mission of fighting climate change. Notably, the leadership team continues to receive recognition for its consistent growth, including CEO Sandeep Ahuja’s inclusion among Inc. Magazine’s 2022 Female Founders 100 and Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 Under 40 lists.
