Emory's Health Sciences Research Building

Project Summary

In designing an innovative lab building, cove.tool enabled early-stage energy modeling and massing analysis. The design team optimized the building's shape, orientation, and window-to-wall ratios, achieving high energy performance without additional costs. cove.tool’s parametric analysis and performance-based decision-making refined options quickly and efficiently. The platform helped balance energy savings with cost considerations, optimizing HVAC systems and incorporating photovoltaic panels to further reduce the building's Energy Use Intensity (EUI).
