The White Hall at Emory

Project Summary

In the renovation of Emory University’s White Hall, cove.tool played a critical role in optimizing energy performance. By modeling existing building conditions and evaluating energy conservation measures (ECMs), the design team used cove.tool’s cost versus energy optimization to explore over 9,200 design options. The platform helped assess strategies like HVAC upgrades, shading, and photovoltaic panels, enabling the team to achieve significant reductions in Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and carbon emissions while meeting budgetary goals. This streamlined approach facilitated a renovation that was a sustainable balance of both energy and cost.

Project Type: Higher Education
