Meet one of our talented team members, Akshay Padwal, cove.tool’s Mechanical Engineering Team Lead.

We met up with Akshay to ask a few questions about his position at cove.tool, his thoughts about the company, and what keeps him busy outside of work.

1. What is your role at cove.tool? What's the best part of your job?

I am the Mechanical Engineering Team Lead at cove.tool. One aspect of my role that I find particularly fulfilling is the opportunity to engage in intricate puzzle-solving. Each day presents a unique set of challenges that demand a collaborative approach to arrive at optimal solutions. This dynamic environment allows me to continuously apply my expertise and work alongside talented colleagues to overcome complex engineering obstacles.

2. What's one cool trip you are planning/have planned, utilizing cove.tool's Flexible PTO Program?

I am currently in the process of planning a visit to my friends in California.

3. What do you do for fun outside of work?

In my free time outside of work, one of my favorite activities is hiking. The abundance of mountains and trails in Georgia and the surrounding states provides ample opportunities for exploration. Currently, I'm looking forward to my next hike at Cloudland Canyon, where I can immerse myself in nature and enjoy the scenic beauty it offers.

4. What are your thoughts on cove.tool's impact on the AEC industry? What are your hopes for the industry?

There is a lot of potential to make a significant impact on the AEC industry by introducing real-time updates as the basis for design. My hope is that more firms will embrace this approach and be open to optimizing their workflows. There is always room for improvement in current processes, and by adopting more efficient methods, the industry as a whole can benefit from increased productivity and streamlined collaboration.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would prefer to reside in a location blessed with abundant sunshine and a multitude of outdoor, walkable areas.
